Will I peel from my chemical peel?

Some peels cause little to no visible peeling, while others involve more noticeable flaking or shedding over several days. Your provider will talk you through what to expect based on the peel selected for your skin.

How many treatments do I need?

That depends on your skin type, concerns, and goals. After your consultation, we will recommend a treatment plan based on what makes the most sense for your skin.

Can I get a chemical peel while pregnant or nursing?

Chemical peels are not suitable if you are pregnant or nursing.

What should I do to prepare for my chemical peel?

  1. Schedule your appointment at least 2 weeks before special event. Redness, swelling, and peeling may be apparent in that time period.
  2. Please let your provider know if you have a history of cold sores. An antiviral may be prescribed.
  3. Please reschedule your appointment if you have an active rash in the area being treated. 
  4. Avoidance of Accutane for the past 6 months is required.
  5. If you’ve had a recent brow or facelift, please wait until 6 months after surgery for treatment.
  6. Avoid waxing 7 days before your appointment.
  7. Discontinue topical retinoids 7-14 days before treatment to reduce sensitivity.

What should I do after my chemical peel?

After your peel, avoid picking or pulling peeling skin, strenuous exercise, excessive heat, and direct sun exposure. Use the post-treatment products recommended to you, wear SPF daily, and follow the aftercare instructions we review with you before you leave.
