How to Choose an Injector in Wilmington
Your injectable appointment should feel personal from the very beginning.
At Self Skin Studio in Wilmington, North Carolina, we take the time to understand your anatomy, goals, and skin health before recommending anything. Because the best results are not about changing the way you look. They are about helping you feel refreshed, balanced, and still completely like yourself.
Our approach is thoughtful, education-led, and never one-size-fits-all. Here is what you can expect when you come to SELF for injectables.
Who performs injectable treatments at SELF?
Our injectable treatments are performed by licensed medical providers who bring different backgrounds, specialties, and perspectives to the treatment room.
Flavia Brown, NP is a board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in injectables and laser treatments. Before moving into aesthetics she spent five years in critical care, including the Surgical Trauma ICU, and that grounding in anatomy and patient care shapes how precisely she treats today. For the past two years she has focused exclusively on aesthetic medicine, with advanced training in neurotoxins, dermal filler, Sculptra, Skinvive, and lasers. She is known for a gentle touch and a calm presence, and for results that look natural rather than overdone.
Chelsea Delgado, RN is a registered nurse with nearly eight years in medical aesthetics. She began her nursing career in aesthetic medicine and has spent it building a detail-oriented approach to treatments that work with a patient's own features. Her advanced training covers neurotoxins, dermal filler, Sculptra, Skinvive, PRP gel, BBL HEROic, and Moxi. She focuses on full facial balancing across the lips, temples, cheeks, chin, and jawline, and she especially enjoys the artistry and precision of injectable work.
Brittiny Brothers, RN is a registered nurse with more than 15 years of nursing experience who has specialized in aesthetic medicine since 2023. Before becoming an injector she worked in the Adult ICU, the Neonatal ICU, and postoperative nursing, which is where her attention to safety and detail comes from. She specializes in neurotoxins, dermal filler, Sculptra, Skinvive, and lasers, and she is known for an artistic eye and for reading facial proportions, contours, and the way light and shadow fall across the face rather than treating one area in isolation.
Who provides medical oversight at SELF?
Self Skin Studio operates under the medical direction of Dr. Karl G. Stonecipher, a physician licensed in North Carolina.
That medical oversight is part of the foundation of our injectable practice, from treatment planning to patient safety and complication management.
How do we plan your treatment?
We look at the whole picture. You may come in thinking about your lips, forehead, jawline, or another specific area, but we start by looking at how everything works together.
How your brows move. Where volume has shifted. The way light and shadow fall across the face. Whether something needs more support, more softness, or nothing at all.
Those details matter.
Sometimes the best plan is exactly what you came in asking for. Sometimes it is less. Sometimes it is treating something completely different first.
And sometimes the right answer is to wait.
After a full face assessment, we always create a treatment plan.
Our approach to filler and full facial balancing
Our filler work is not about one feature. It is about proportion.
We look at how the whole face holds together before deciding where anything goes, and the product matters as much as the placement. Areas that need structure, like the jawline or chin, call for something different than areas where we want softness and hydration. We work with Juvederm, Restylane, and RHA, and your injector chooses based on the area and the goal rather than defaulting to one product for everything.
We believe in a treatment plan that focuses on natural-looking results that never look overdone. Every filler we use is hyaluronic acid based, which means it absorbs naturally over time and can be reversed if you ever want that.
Our approach to Sculptra
Sculptra asks for patience, and we plan it that way.
It works differently from hyaluronic acid filler. Rather than adding volume the day of your appointment, it stimulates your own collagen, so the change builds over three to six months and shows up as improved support and firmness rather than as something added.
That means the treatment plan is different too. We plan Sculptra across multiple sessions spaced several weeks apart, we tell you up front that you will not see much at first, and we would rather start conservatively and reassess than get ahead of your own collagen. It suits patients who are noticing gradual volume loss or softening contours.
All of our injectors have completed hands-on advanced Sculptra training.
Why we keep training
We never want to get too comfortable.
Aesthetic medicine continues to evolve, and ongoing education is a major part of how we practice at Self Skin Studio.
During 2025 and 2026, our providers completed hands-on training with Leslie Fletcher, Patrick Szaraz, Dr. Jarod Chapman, Kristin Cabeda, David Weir, Heather Tucker, Kelly Gibbs, Julie Horne, Kenz Jackson, and Rana Kelly, along with Allergan's Elevate program in Norfolk and Charlotte. Training has covered full facial balancing, lips, cheeks, chin, hands, biostimulation with Sculptra, Daxxify, RHA, and advanced injectable technique, plus multiple Sciton BBL HEROic and Moxi certifications.
A lot of that training happens right here at Self Skin Studio, with educators working alongside our providers in our own treatment rooms. We love it that way because it keeps education practical, hands-on, and connected to the way we actually treat our patients.
Safety is part of that education, too.
Flavia has completed advanced complication management training with Dr. Christian Subbio and Professor Sebastian Cotofana.
Complications with injectable treatments are rare but can happen. We believe knowing how to recognize and manage them is just as important as knowing how to create a beautiful result.
What does a first injectable appointment feel like?
Your first visit is as much about the conversation as it is the treatment.
We want to know what you are seeing, what you love about your features, and what you might like to change.
Then we will perform a full face assessment and give you a detailed treatment plan.
I visited Chelsea at Self for my first ever injectables appointment. I was excited and pretty nervous going into it, but she was so thorough and knowledgeable about every aspect of filler injection. She checked in with me every part of the way answering any questions I could think of throughout the process. Everyone there was super supportive and made sure I had everything I needed.
What do injectables cost at SELF?
We publish our current pricing on each treatment page so you can look through your options before you ever come in.
And once we build your treatment plan, we will walk you through the total cost before anything begins.
The SELF approach to injectables
We want you to feel confident and excited about your results when you leave.
That means taking our time. Looking at the full face. Explaining the why behind what we recommend. Continuing to train. And being just as comfortable saying "not yet" as we are saying "let's do it."
If you are considering injectables in Wilmington, come see us. We will talk through what you are noticing, share what we see, and build a plan.
